Abstract:
The objective of this study were to determine knowledge, attitude, oral health behavior and factors associated to caries status of students in Bantupphung School, Srisamrong District, Sukhothai Province. The subjects of this study were 36 students. The data were collected through structured interview schedule. Data were analysed by descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test and Spearman rank correlation coefficient. The results showed that 58.3 percent of students were male, 55.6 percent lived with father and mother, 75 percent of parent had primary education, 80.6 percent were farmer and had revenue per month 5,000 bath. 77.78 percent of students had high knowledge level, 88.33 percent had medium attitude, 72.22 percent had medium behavior about consume and oral health care and 52.73 percent had medium risk behavior. Students had caries experience 36.11 percent. DMFT was 1.00. The factors statistically significant associated with dental caries status were age (r = 0.483, p-value = 0.003), classroom (p-value = 0.039) caregiver (p-value = 0.041), knowledge about benefit oral health food (r = -0.383, p-value = 0.021), knowledge about dental caries and gingivitis can not treatment (r = 0.362, p-value = 0.030), students brushed your teeth every morning (r = -0.373, p-value = 0.025) The result can be used to make guidelines for dental caries promotion and prevention in primary education students. Promote about oral health knowledge, good attitude related to good behavior, included behavior oral health care and avoid risk factors.
