Abstract:
To study the correlation of teaching performance appraisal result between self-evaluation and 360 degrees appraisal from 5, 4, and 3 sources under; equal and unequal weight, of importance of each sources and to study the leniency error of teaching performance appraisal results between different sources. The 44 teachers were evaluated by 5 groups such as; 44 self-evaluation teachers, 125 colleagues, 22 department leaders, 15 directors, and 1,198 students. The criterions of teaching performance appraisal were as follows 1) planning and preparing the instruction 2) environmental management in classroom 3) teaching acitvities and 4) professional responsibilities. The research results were 1) the result of self-evaluation and students' evaluation and the result of self-evaluation and colleagues' evaluation showed the medium correlation (r=.478, and r=.456 respectively) 2) the results of self-evaluation and 360 degrees appraisal from 5 and 4 sources with equally weight showed the medium and high correlation (r=.692, and r=.732 respectively). Further more, the results showed that the students and colleagues had positive leniency error but the department leaders, self and directors, had negative leniency error.
