Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to study factors related to attitude of teachers toward male students with sexual deviated behavior. There were 640 teachers from Bangkok and Khon Kaen participated in the study. Subjects were selected by purposive sampling. Twenty one factors were studied and grouped under three domains; personal domain, family domain, and social-environmental domain. A self-administered questionnaire and The Attitude toward Homosexuality Scale were used in the study. Data were analyzed by independent sample t-test and stepwise multiple regression. The result of the study were as follows; 1. There was no difference in attitude toward male students with sexual deviated behaviors of teachers in urban and rural area of Khon Kaen. 2. There was no difference in attitude toward male students with sexual deviated behaviors of teachers in urban and sub-urban area of Bangkok 3. There was no difference in attitude toward male students with sexual deviated behaviors of teachers in Bangkok and Khon Kaen. 4. Factors significantly related to the attitude of teachers toward male students with sexual deviated behavior were female ([beta] = .220), educational background in Home Economics ([beta] = -.114), teaching Science ([beta] = .095), teaching Guidance ([beta] = -.083), and perception of parents relationship ([beta] = -.077). These factors were significantly related the attitude of teachers toward male students with sexual deviated behavior (F = 10.427, p < .001) and accounted for 7% of variability in such behavior.
