Abstract:
To study and compare the attitude toward recreation activities of the tourists at Pattaya city, Chonburi province. The samples were consisted of 400 Thai tourists who had visited Pattaya city, were asked to respond to the questionnaires, constructed by the researcher, then, analyzed in terms of percentages, means, standard deviations and t-test. The findings were as follows 1. The majority tourists were between 15-24 years of age, at present they were employed and had average earning income of 5,001-10,000 Bath/month and 10,001-15,000 Bath/month respectively. The most interesting recreation activities were aquatic activities and beach activities. 2. Tourists' attitude was at the good level in all components : Cognitive component, affective component and behavioral component to recreation activities. 3. Ehen compared the tourists' attitude between male and female, there were not significant difference. However, some attitude concepts were namely: "recreation activities are useless", "recreation activities make self confidence", "the atmosphere at the bar beer", and "swimming in Pattaya's beach just only for children not for adult", were significant difference at .05 level. 4. When compared the tourists' attitude between employed workers and students groups, there were not significant difference. However, some attitude concepts were namely: "Songkran festival at Pattaya support the old tradition and culture", "recreation activities promoted love and understand in a family", "the bungy jump increased self confidence", "and it was a swimming whenever visiting Pattaya", were significant difference at .05 level.
