Abstract:
The objective of this research was to develop the computer assisted instruction for reading aloud for Grade 1 students to meet the standard criterion of 80/80. The sample used in this study was 30 students of Grade 1 at Namyuen School, Namyuen District, under the Office of Ubon Ratchathani Primary Education Service Area Office 5, in the second semester of the academic year 2012, selected by using cluster random sampling. The tools used to collect the data were a lesson of computer assisted instruction for reading aloud for Grade 1 students, 20 items of learning achievement test for both pretest and posttest with a reliability of 0.87, and a lesson plan of Thai language strand on the topic of reading aloud for Grade 1 students. The statistics used for analysis were percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The research method was as follows teaching students reading aloud by computer assisted instruction for 6 lessons, 3 days a week, 2 hours a day in ordinary time, and for 6 lessons, 2 hours for each lesson, a total of 12 hours in supplementary time, at the end of each lesson, there was a test to analyze the efficiency of computer assisted instruction (E1); at the end of 6 lessons, there was 20 items of a learning achievement test to analyze the efficiency of computer assisted instruction (E2).The research finding indicated that the computer assisted instruction for reading aloud for Grade 1 students had the efficiency at 84.56/86.67 which met the standard criterion of 80/80.
