The development of problem-based instructional model based on knowledge management approach to enhance the ability to solve problem among undergraduate students.
Abstract:
The purposes of this study were 1) to develop the problem-based instructional model based on knowledge management approach to enhance the ability to solve problem among undergraduate students 2) to compare the result among the students taugh the problem-based instructional model based on knowledge management approach to enhance the ability to solve problem achievement with the students in the traditional class and 3) to compare the result of the students taugh the problem-based instructional model based on knowledge management approach pretest-posttest scores of the ability for problem solving ability for self studying, and ability to work as team. The research procedure consisted of 3 phases: the development and the implementation of the developed model. The first phase was developed by 11 experts. The second phase was to compare the result among the students taugh the problem-based instructional model based on knowledge management approach to enhance the ability to solve problem achievement with 30 students and the students in the traditional class with 30 students of undergraduate students in Library and Information Science of Suan Dusit University. The third phase was to compare the result of the students taugh the problem-based instructional model based on knowledge management approach pretest-posttest scores of the ability for problem solving ability for self studying, and ability to work as team. The data were analyzed by using arithmetic mean, standard deviation, dependent t-test and content analysis.
The research findings were as follow:
1. The problem-based instructional model based on knowledge management approach to enhance the ability to solve problem among undergraduate students consisted of 6 stages: 1) the identification of the problems, 2) the analysis of cause
of the problems, 3) the compilation and systematization of knowledge from research
4) the sharing, summary and evaluation of the answer, 5) the application and dissemination of knowledge gained., and6) the summary and evaluation of application of knowledge to solve problems.: the suitability of the model were at most level.: the students satisfaction toward the problem-based instructional model based on knowledge management approach for enhancing ability to problem were at high level.; the online lessons that were suitable for teaching at a high level.
2. Students taught with the problem-based instructional model based on knowledge management approach had higher achievement scores than students taught with the traditional method at .05 significance level.
3. Studentstaugh had the increase ability for problem solving ability for self studying, and ability to work as team were posttest higher than the pretest.
