A Study of Academic Management Competencies of School Administrators, Thakanoon-Sahakornnikom-Hindad Community, Kanchanaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 3
Abstract:
The purposes of this study were to study and compare academic management competencies of school administrators, Thakanoon-Sahakornnikom-Hindad Community, Kanchanaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 3, in 4 aspects: learning management, curriculum development, supervisory learning management, and promoting doing research, classified by teaching level, teaching experience, and work experience. The samples of this study included 127 teachers in Thakanoon-Sahakornnikom-Hindad Community, Kanchanaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 3 in an academic year 2011. The instrument used for gathering data was five rating-scale questionnaire with a Cronbach Alpha of .93. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, Standard Deviation, and t-test.
The results of this research were as follows:
1. The overall of academic management competencies of school administrators was at a high level. When each aspect was considered, it was found that learning management aspect, promoting doing research aspect were at a high level, but curriculum development aspect and supervisory learning management aspect were at moderate level.
2. There had no significantly difference of the teachers opinion who had been teaching at different levels in overall and each aspect. The teachers who had differently teaching experience had no significantly difference, but found significantly difference at .05 level in the aspect of curriculum development. The teachers who had differently working experience had differently opinions in overall and the aspect of promoting doing research at .01 level of significance, also found significantly difference in the aspect of supervision at .05 level.
