Abstract:
The purposes of this research were 1) to study the levels of job characteristics, organizational commitment, job satisfaction, and organizational citizenship behavior, 2) to explore the relationships among job characteristics, organizational commitment, job satisfaction, and organizational citizenship behavior, and 3) to investigate the influences of job characteristics on organizational commitment, job satisfaction, and organizational citizenship behavior.
The samples were 285 staffs who working at Faculty of Business Administration from all eight Rajamangala Universities of Technology. The research instrument used was the questionnaire which was passed the content validity testing. While confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used to analyze the construct validity. Moreover, the influences of job characteristics and the validity of the model influencing organizational citizenship behavior were investigated.
The results revealed that the levels of opinion on job characteristics, organizational commitment, job satisfaction, and organizational citizenship behavior were at high level. Due to the relationships among the factors, the results indicated that all variables had the values between 0.233 and 0.698 whereas the model influencing organizational citizenship behavior well fitted to empirical data ( = 80.702, df = 67, p-value = 0.121, GFI= 0.962, and RMSEA = 0.027). Furthermore, organizational citizenship behavior was most influenced by organizational commitment, followed by job characteristics with the coefficients of 0.69 and 0.31, respectively at significant level of 0.001.
