Abstract:
The objectives of this study were 1) to examine exercise attitude and sport media
exposured behavior of high school students in Vientiane; 2) to compare the attitudes toward
exercise and the behaviors of high school students in Vientiane classified by their personality with
sport media exposure and 3) to examine the relations between the attitudes toward exercise and
the behaviors of high school students in Vientiane with sport media exposure. The population
were 6,997 high school students from 9 high schools in Vientiane. The sample group was 400
high school students, drawn based up on Krejcie and Morgans formula ( Krejcie &
Morgan, 1970). Computer programs for statistical analysis was used to analyze the data to find
frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Least Significant
Difference: LSD, and Pearsons product moment correlation coefficient.
The findings revealed that 1) high school students in Vientiane had the attitudes
toward exercise at a high level; their behaviors to expose sport media via television, radio an
internet were at an average level while the level of students received information on sport via
newspaper was low; 2) high school students of different genders had different attitudes toward
exercise (P < .05) and their behaviors on sport media exposure between television and internet
were different (P < .05); samples with different class levels had the same attitudes toward
exercise, however, their behaviors to expose to newspaper were statistically different
(P < .05); and 3) the relation between the attitudes toward exercise and the behaviors of high
school students sport media exposure was at low level.
