Abstract:
The objectives of this research were to 1) Study effects of aesthetic experiences enhancement through Edutainment art activities on aesthetic of children aged 7-9 years old and 2) Study and develop Edutainment art activities model suitable for children aged 7-9 years old. The sample group composed of 39 children aged 7-9 years old at Chulalongkorn University Demonstration School, regardless to genders. The durations of the experiment were 7 weeks. The research instruments were developed by the researcher based on Randy Whites approach in using the Edutainment, and Michael J. Parsons Cognitive and Development Account of Aesthetic Experience which consisted of 1) The Edutainment art activities, 2) The satisfaction worksheet for Edutainment art activities, 3) The aesthetic test, 4) The survey for analyzing aesthetic expression, 5) The observation form for aesthetic experiences, 6) The survey for students satisfaction on Edutainment art activities, 7) The students background data questionnaires. The data were analyzed by using frequencies, means, standard deviation, and t-test, and 8) content analysis. The findings revealed that 1) The level of aesthetic development of students were higher than before learning through Edutainment art activities at the significant difference level of .05, 2) The highest mean of the level of aesthetic development of students upon the works of art were at level 3 (expressiveness) (x̄ = 2.02), 3) The most of aesthetic experience behaviors shown by the students was interest in content, 4) The students satisfaction highest level of agreement in Edutainment art activities was Barbapapa territory, and wishing to exhibit their works of art, and 5) The top behaviors shown at each step of the Edutainment art activities lesson plans were, at the introduction step were observation and consideration, at the activities enhanced step were experiences cooperation and experimentation, at the operation step were experimentation and repetition, and at the conclusion step was an analysis The guidelines for designing the Edutainment art activities consist of 4 steps: 1) The Introduction step: preparation by the teacher and students, the teacher stimulate curiosity for students, and students are inspired, 2) The activities enhanced step: the teacher stimulate curiosity for students once again, and students gather knowledge, 3) The operation step: the students desire to know and desire to work, and 4) The conclusion step: the teacher encourages students to express, and the teacher and students reflect experiences.
