Abstract:
โดยเฉพาะ The purposes of this research were to study the level of moral reasonings of professional nurses in Bangkok Metropolis and to compare the moral reasonings of the professional nurses with different position and educational degree according to Kohlbergs moral development theory. The populational sample was 430 professional nurses selected from Nursing Schools and training hospital centers in Bangkok Metropolis. In this case the simple Random sampling technique and the stratified random sampling were employed. The instruments used in this inquiry were informational questionnaire constructed by the researcher and the Defining Issues Test of Rest which was translated into Thai. The reliability and validity of the test were 0.65 and 0.768 respectively. Raw data were collected by using Rests manual and then analysed by using statistical procedures, percentage analysis, arithmetic mean and standard deviation. Moreover, t-test was utilized in testing statistical significance of the variables. The following conclusions were based on the findings of this investigation: 1. Professional nurses had the high level of moral reasonings. 2. There was no statistically significant difference in the level of the moral reasonings between instructors and staff nurses at the 0.05 level. 3. Level of moral reasonings of the higher educational degree nurses was significantly higher than that of the lower educational degree nurses at the 0.01 level. From the results of this research, the researcher suggested that moral reasonings of professional nurses ought to be developed by means of education, training, and seminar in order to increase the experience in moral reasonings and moral judgments. Additionally, it was recommended that the further research concerning morality of nurses in the other parts of Thailand ought to be conducted. The same instrument may be used, or the situation containing of the nursing dilemma issues may be developed for such research of professional nurses.
