Abstract:
This research is a part of increasing work efficiency of Export Document Department
in a case study of a Agent Liner in the area of LaemChabang, purposed to study in the increase of
work efficiency of Export Document Department and study in guideline to increase efficiency of
export document employees to lead to new approach of performing work. The principle of
eliminating unnecessary work procedures, reduction of work procedures by combination,
rearrangement of works and work performance improvement by simplification were employed to
be the study concept to reduce wastes and non-beneficial tasks. The working time in each step
was collected and made the comparison between before and after using new approach.
The results indicated that the employees could reduce the time used in sending Bill of
Landing to the exporter, firstly from 401 minutes to 333 minutes after the exporter sent the
booking note via electronic mail. The employee could reply the request of Bill of Landing
amendment, from 40.23 minutes to 20.37 minutes and could reduce waiting time at the counter
service from 5.18 minutes to 4.68 minutes. It expressed that the aforementioned principle could
actually reduce working time.
