Abstract:
This research aimed to study the Internet usage behavior and the Internet usage characteristics, and to compare the Internet usage behavior and the Internet usage characteristics by gender, age, grade level, experienced, service location, and the Internet usage each time of upper secondary students of Kaochanpittayakarn school, Chonburi province. One hundred and thirty-two upper secondary education students of Kochan-pittayakarn school, Chonburi province were samples for this study. The instrument used was a questionnaire developed by the researcher. The data were analyzed by percentage, mean ( ), Standard Deviation (S.D.), t-test, F test, and One-way Analysis of Variance: ANOVA.
Findings showed that: mosts of the samples are female, aged 16-17 years old, studying in grade 11, using the Internet for entertainment, flexible time for using, used at the school, used WWW, used Google for searching information, had more than 3 years experience for using, usage less than 5 times per week, and 2-4 hours per session around
9 a.m. to 3.59 p.m. on Monday-Friday, using the Internet alone, usage Thai language, and searching education content from the Internet.
The result of comparing, it was found that:
1. The students behaviors classified by gender, were significant different at .01 level in term of using the Internet for entertainment and others.
2. The students behaviors classified by class level were significant different at .01 level in term of using the Internet for education, for research knowledge, for friendship through the Internet, for using electronic letter, and ethics usage of the Internet.
