Abstract:
The objectives of this research were to study and compare secondary school administrators desirable characteristics in Sahaschool Network 2 under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 18 in 4 aspects: general administration, academic, personality, and moral and ethics, classified by gender, age, position, education level, and working experience. The population comprised 346 teachers working at Sahaschool Network 2 under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 18. The sample size using the table of Krejcie; & Morgan composed of 184 teachers. The instrument was a rating scale questionnaire. Statistics used for analyzing data were mean, Standard Deviation, t-test, and F test.
The research results revealed as follows:
1. The secondary school administrators desirable characteristics in Sahaschool Network 2 according to the teachers opinions in an overall was rated at a high level. Considering each aspect, the moral and ethics aspect was the first desirable characteristic of the administrator ( = 4.32), followed by the personality aspect ( = 4.24). The least desirable characteristic was the academic aspect ( = 4.04).
2. Comparing the desirable characteristics of the administrator, classified by the samples gender, it had no differently difference.
3. Comparing the desirable characteristics of the administrator, classified by the samples age, it was found different in the aspect of moral & ethics at .05 level of significance, but it had no significantly difference in the other 3 aspects.
4. Comparing the desirable characteristics of the administrator, classified by the samples position, it was found different in the aspects of academic and personality at .01 level of significance and in the aspect of general administration at .05 level of significance.
5. Comparing the desirable characteristics of the administrator, classified by the samples education level, it was found different in the aspects of personality and moral & ethics at .01 level of significance.
6. Comparing the desirable characteristics of the administrator, classified by the samples working experience, it had no significantly difference.
