Abstract:
There are not many health-related websites available today for Thai elders. Moreover, it is difficult for elders to understand the information provided on these websites. By using a tool from ThaiWebAccessibility.com, a web accessibility test showed that most of todays websites for elders do not follow the web accessibility guidelines. This research developed a health related website for aging users based on Thai Web Content Accessibility Guideline 2010 (TWCAG 2010) to help old users to more easily access and use information on the web. The developed website was tested and passed the highest accessibility level of the guideline.
The usability of the developed website was evaluated by 30 elder users based on five attributes: learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, and satisfaction. Results revealed that the developed website showed better quality of all five attributes than those of the existing website at a statistical significance level of 0.05.
