Abstract:
The purposes of the research were to construct and to find out the efficiency of instructional packages in reading comprehension for Prathom suksa 4 students. The anticipated efficiency of these instructional packages were 80/80.The 61 Prathomsuksa 4 students in Srivikorn school wrer simple random sampling selected from 185 students, studied in the second Semester of the 1998 academic year. The samples were divided into 3 groups : 3, 10 and 48 students for 3 steps in the experiment.The instruments used in the research were constructed by the researcher. They were 4 instructional packages in reading comprehension for Prathomsuksa 4 students. Each package consists of reading exercises and 40 multiple - choice skill tests.The 4 instructional packages in reading comprehension were approved by the advisory committee and the specialists. The treatments were divided into 3 steps. In the first step, the 3 individual students read and did the exercises, the researcher observed and interviewed the students, then reorganized the instructional packages. The reorganized instructional packages were used again for small group, 10 students, in the second step. The reading exercises and skill tests were done by the small group, the scores were statisti analyzed by use the E / E formula. The efficiency of the instructional packages were 89.50/88.50. In the third step, the 48 students were used as the large group. The experiment was done in the same method as the second step.The result of the study showed that the constructed instructional packages in reading comprehension for Prathomsuksa 4 students contained the efficiency of 8656/85.83 in third step which were higher than the anticipated.
