Abstract:
The study is relevant to the mental health of soldiers from battlefields. However, the past - findings were not be applicable and couldnt define the symptoms of mental disorders after trauma, which are important symptoms. The study about mental health and post - traumatic stress symptoms will be helpful for using in planning guidelines to encourage the soldiers from battlefields to have better mental health.The propose of this cross - sectional descriptive study was to study mental health, post - traumatic stress symptoms and associated factors related to combat in soldiers at Phramongkutklao Hospital. Data were collected from 108 from soldiers from combat who admitted at Phramongkutklao Hospital. Self - report included: Personal information, Symptom Distress Checklist 90 (SCL.90) and General Health Questionnaire Plus Revision (GHQ 12 Plus - R) Part 2 PTSD Screening Test. Univariate analysis were used to determine the associated factors with mental health and post - traumatic stress symptoms among those patients.The results revealed that most of the soldiers from combat 73.1 % had mental health problems, 50.0 % was Obsessive - Compulsive symptom. From Univariate analysis, the factor associated with mental health problem is caused injury while performing official field mission with detonation wounds. And most of the soldiers from combat 77.8 % do not have post - traumatic stress symptoms, the factors associated with post - traumatic stress symptoms are age and marital status. Logistic regression analysis was performed and found predicted factor of post - traumatic stress symptoms was married. (p = 0.019)
