Abstract:
The objectives of the research were to examine the level of loyalty of the employees for the Holiday Inn Resort, to study factors affecting their loyalty, and 3) to identify the problems faced and propose suggestions to improve the employees loyalty. The researcher utilized questionnaires to 424 staff of the Holiday Inn Resort Phuket. The data was then analyzed by using a computer program and the results were shown in frequency, percentage, means, t-test, one-way anova and one-way analysis of variance. The results of the study revealed that :
Most of the respondents were male, single, and aged between 26-30 years old. Most of them held bachelor degrees and earned between 9,501-12,000 baht monthly. They were operating staff and had worked at this hotel for 6-10 years. The overall level of loyalty of the staff for the hotel was found to be moderate. The internal factors affecting the loyalty of the hotel staff in a high level included salaries and benefits, relationship with their colleagues, and work environment. The external factors affecting the loyalty of the hotel staff in a high level included economy, technology, and society.
Suggestions to improve the hotel staffs loyalty included : 1) the hotel should encourage the staff to integrate their skills when working ; 2) the hotel should adjust the staffs salaries and benefits based on the staffs knowledge and skills ; 3) the hotel should organize activities for the hotel staff to get together to develop their good relationship ; 4) the hotel should provide flexible working hours for the staff ; 5) the hotel the hotel should organize activities for the hotel staff to communicate with the administrators ; 6) the hotel should support the staff to save their money by establishing a savings group, and provide scholarships for the staffs children ; 7) the hotel should train the staff about new technology and knowledge.
