Abstract:
This thesis was a correlation research and the objectives are 1) to study levels of Leadership Characteristic, Attitude in Work of Employees and Motivation in Work 2) to study the relationships between Leadership Characteristic and Motivation in Work 3) to study the relationships between Attitude in Work of Employees and Motivation in Work and 4) to predict Motivation in Work according to Leadership Characteristic and Attitude in Work. The sampling groups consisted of 374 employees of the Retail Business Group. The research instrument was a questionnaire divided into 4 parts : personal factors data, Leadership Characteristic, Attitude in Work of Employees and Motivation in Work. The statistics used were Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient and Enter Multiple Regression Analysis.
The results found that 1) The employees had a middle level of Leadership Characteristic, Attitude in Work of Employees and Motivation in Work. 2) The Leadership Characteristic correlated positively to Motivation in Work at .01 of significant level. 4) The Attitude in Work of Employees correlated positively to Motivation in Work at .01 of significant level. 5) The Leadership Characteristic and Attitude in Work of Employees can predict Motivation in Work of 43.50 percentage at a significance level of .01. A predictive equation of Motivation in Work was created in a form of standard scores = .356 (Leadership Characteristic) + .363 (Attitude in Work)
