Abstract:
The objectives of this research were (1) to study efficiency of STAD Cooperative Learning Technique on English reading comprehension, (2) to study the effectiveness index of STAD Cooperative Learning Technique, (3) to compare the students learning achievement before and after on English reading comprehension , (4) to study the students satisfaction towards the STAD Cooperative Learning Technique on English reading comprehension. The samples consisted of 30 Mathayomsuksa 1students from Don Sieo Daeng Phitthayakhom school under Secondary Educational Service Area Office 22, enrolled in first semester of academic year 2014, selected by Cluster Random Sampling. There were 3 kinds of instruments: (1) The 12 learning plans by using STAD Cooperative Learning Technique. (2) The learning achievement test of 30 items of multiple choice tests with the difficulty between 0.33- 0.60, the discrimination power between 0.55 - 0.85, and the reliability of the total issue as 0.83. (3) The 15 items of students satisfaction questionnaires with the discrimination power between 0.42 - 0.78, and the reliability of the total issue as 0.84. The statistics employed in data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation and t-test (Dependent Samples). The results of the research were as follows:(1) The efficiency by using STAD Cooperative Learn Technique on English reading comprehension revealed the efficiency of 86.46/84.66, (2) The effectiveness index by using STAD Cooperative Learn Technique showed the advance of learning of 0 .70 , (3) The learning achievement on English reading comprehension, after learning was higher than before learning in statistical significance at the .01 level. (4) The students satisfaction towards the STAD Cooperative Learning Technique on English reading comprehension was at the high level in overall aspects.
