THE RELATION BETWEEN MANAGERIAL SKILLS OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR AND QUALITY OF SCHOOL MANAGEMENT PERFORMANCES UNDER THE OFFICE OF SECONDARY EDUCATION SERVICE AREA 22 IN NAKHON PHANOM PROVINCE
Abstract:
The purposes of this study were to (1) investigate and compare the relationship between managerial skills of school administrators and quality of school management performances, classified by status and school size, and to (2) study the relationship and create equations in the relations between managerial skills of school administrators and quality of school management performances. The sample group of this research was 305 school administrators. The research instrument was a five-point rating scale questionnaire on the aspect of managerial skills of school administrators with the discrimination value at 0.92 and also, a questionnaire on the aspect of quality of school management performances with the discrimination value at 0.93. The statistics used in analyzing data were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and testing the hypothesis by using t-test, F-test, and Pearsons Product - Moment Coefficient of Correlation and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results of this research were as follows: (1) The managerial skills of school administrators and quality of school management performances, were at the high level both overall and individually. The managerial skills of school administrators, classified by status and school size were no different in overall aspect. Considering on the individual aspect, teachers view on inter- personal relationships; the teachers in small-sized schools had more inter-personal relationships than teachers in medium-sized and large-sized schools. The quality of school management performances, classified by status were no different in overall aspect, while classifying by school size were different on both the overall and individual aspect; teachers viewed on the aspect of learner quality and instruction revealed that teachers in medium-sized and large-sized schools were higher than in small-sized schools. (2) The overall and individual aspect of the relation between managerial skills of school administrators and quality of schools management performance, was positively correlated.
The managerial skills of school administrators in aspect of techniques and perspective to predict the quality of schools management performance value were 9.10 %.
