Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to study factors affecting the saving behavior of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration officers. Number of samples were 390 persons from Bangkok Metropolitan Administration officers and they were calculated by using Yamane technique. Data were collected through the self-administered questionnaires. Descriptive statistics, T-test, One-Way ANOVA and Multiple regressions were used to analyze the data at the significant level of 0.05.
Results of the study found that Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Officers were mainly females 63.1% age 31-40 years 54.1% single 52.6% support of family 1-3 people 51% bachelor degree 56.9% average income 10,001-15,000 baht per month 45.4% average expenditure 5,001-10,000 baht per month 38.5% majority of foster father and mother 47.4% and expenditure for live 93.6%
The motivation factors were apparent that the stability of financial institution aspect was the highest rank, followed by the compensation, and the access to service of financial institution aspects. Moreover, the environmental factors revealed that the economic aspect was the most important, followed by the social aspect.
The research findings showed that the saving behavior of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration officers among gender, age, the number of dependents, income and expenditure had significant statistical difference whilst the both motivation factors (compensation, stability of financial institutions, access to financial and service institutions aspects) and environment factors (social and economic aspects) affecting the saving behavior of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration officers had together significant statistical difference.
