Abstract:
The purposes of this study were to develop listening and speaking skills by using storytelling activity of Prathom Suksa 6 students and to study learning achievement of listening and speaking skills in English before and after learning English through storytelling. The population was 4 Prathom Suksa 6 students at Ban Maema School, Wangnua District, Lampang Province, Lampang Primary Educational Service Area Office 3 in the first semester of academic year 2014.The research design was one group pretest-posttest design. The instruments used to collect data in this study were 1) five lesson plans based on using storytelling activity and English listening-speaking abilities test. The data obtained were analyzed by using percentage, mean, standard deviation and t-test. The findings revealed that 1) Listening and speaking skills of Prathom Suksa 6 students has improved after using storytelling activity. 2) The learning achievement of listening and speaking skills in English of Prathom Suksa 6 students after being taught by storytelling was higher than before with the mean score at 8 or 27.5 percent in listening test and the mean score at 16.50 or 27.5 percent in speaking test."
