Effects of using scrabble game activity to develop english learning achievement in Pratomsuksa 3 at Anuban Ongkhrak (Padung Ongkharakpracha) School, Nakhon Nayok Province
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to 1) develop lesson plans with scrabble game included, 2) compare pre-test and post-test of the students achievement in english subject of the experimental group, and 3) compare pre-test and post-test of the students achievement in english subject of the experimental group and the controlled groups.
The research samples were 172 prathomsuksa 3 students of Anuban Ongkharak (Phadung Ongkharakpracha) School selected by cluster random sampling. There were 2 controlled groups (45 each) and 1 experimental group (40 students). Research instruments were 1) lesson plans with scrabble game included, 2) english language achievement test. The statistics used for data analysis included mean ( ̅x), standard deviation (S.D.), t-test and ANCOVA.
The findings showed that 1) lesson plans consisted of topic, objectives, goals, content, teaching activities, instructional media and an assessment with the 1.00 IOC lesson plans, 2) the students pre-test achievement of the experimental group was higher than the post-test with statistically significant difference at the level of .01, 3) students achievement of the experimental group was higher than students achievement of the controlled groups with statistically significant difference at the level of .05.
