Abstract:
Background ; Topical Centella cream has been widespreadingly used to treat various skin conditions such as the use for reducing inflammation, the use in reducing cell inhibit proliferation and the use to increase the wound healing efficacy. As the result and mentioned facts the topical Centella cream contains the probable characteristic to clinically heal the psoriasis.
Objective; This research aims to compare the efficacy of topical Centella cream, 0.1% triamcinolone acetonide (TA) cream and cream base in mild plaque type psoriasis.
Methods; The research is designed to study the specific mild plague type psoriasis.
A randomized, within body, comparative, double-blind clinical trial, 8-week study was designed. 16 patients randomly lesions to received topical Centella cream, 0.1% triamcinolone acetonide (TA) cream and cream base,The observation and data collection will be performed every 4 weeks to access the modified Psoriasis Area Severity Index (mPASI) score, Satisfactory score and side effect
Results; After 8 weeks of treatment the mean mPASI score decreased from 7.31 to 3.56 (-3.94) in Centella cream group, 7.88 to 3.38 (-4.31) in 0.1%TA and 6.62 to 5.00 (-1.63) in cream base. Satisfactory score has 75%satisfied in results and similar in 3 group while the side effects of topical Centella cream shows evidently of dryness and itchy. There was no follow-up period after the 8-week treatment.
Conclusions; The research finds that the Efficacy of plaque type psoriasis treatment is indifferent to the result from performing the treatment by steroid cream in reducing the clinical symptoms of psoriasis. However, the efficacy of is topical Centella cream is statistically effective than cream base with less side effects.
