Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to study factors affecting the health promotion behaviour of the patients with diabetes and the level of health promotion behaviour. The sample group consisted of 378 patients with diabetes at Krabi Hospital. Questionnaires were used as tools to collect the data. The statistics employed in analyzing the collected data were percentage, arithmetic means, S.D., t-test, and F-test.The results of the study revealed as follows: Most of the respondents were female, married, and aged from 41-50 years old. They held bachelors degrees and worked as employees. Their monthly income was lower than 30,000 baht.
The level of health promotion behaviour of the patients was found to be high. The most practiced behaviour was found to be health care, followed by stress management, rest, and exercise. It was found that the patients of both sexes, different level of education, monthly income and status had the same health promotion behaviour. However, the patients of different age had significantly different behavior at the level of 0.01.
