Abstract:
Punch and die is the importance tool in sheet metal industries, its suit for mass production of sheet metal parts, but unsuit for job shop production or sheet metal prototyping. Then SPIF is develop to overcome this problem with the workpiece surface roughness quality. So, this thesiss aim to study the process parameters that effected to surface roughness quality and to make a SPIF roughness prediction model. The square cup 75x75x14 mm material St37 0.8 mm thickness was formed by SPIF. The experimental result shows that the size overlap, the step depth and tool radius are the main affected parameter in prediction model, this model is used to find out the optimized value of each parameter. The optimized parameter for forming square shell are 3 mm size overlap, 2 mm step depth and 6 mm tool radius, that parameters are the average roughness is 0.3-0.4 umRa level as die forming.
