Abstract:
Global climate change influences on the water volume of water resources in the last decade of both rainy and dry season, in particular, the use of water from reservoirs for water supply and agriculture. This study aimed to examine the effects of rainfall on the water volume in Huay-srithon reservoir, Kalasin province by using the PRECIS Model, to predict rainfall in case of B2-IPCC SRES and analysis of historical data by correlation leads to an equation to calculate the reservoir water volume in the future, during years 2014-2023 and compared to the base line years 2006-2013. The results showed that the study area has an average rainfall was decreased by 100.5 mm or 7.7%, the average water volume in the reservoir was decreased by 0.18 MCM, or 8.9% compared to the base line year, and suggests that the water volume is likely to decrease as a cause of drought in the future. The methodologies and results of this study are expected to be applied to decision making for the water management for consumption and agriculture by the agency responsible for the future.
