Abstract:
The purposes of this independent study has 2 objectives: to study the level of satisfaction
that affect work motivation of Mae Fah Luang University Hospitals employees in Chiang Rai
Province, and to study factor of satisfaction that affect work motivation of Mae Fah Luang
University Hospitals employees in Chiang Rai Province. Data was collected from 2 targets
group, (1) 115 employees of Mae Fah Luang University Hospitals in Chiang Rai Province, by
using questionnaires and semi-structure interview and, (2) 38 employees, who resign from of Mae
Fah Luang University Hospitals in Chiang Rai Province by using exit- interview questionnaires
for data collection. (Data analysis from both questionnaire instrument and exit-interview question
were descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation. Semi-
structure interview used to collect opinion and recommend.) The Majority of participants are
single female age between 20-30 years old. Most of them work for Mae Fah Luang University
Hospitals for 1-3 years in public health party, their salary are less than 10,000 baths. The result
show that the overall work satisfaction, both hygiene and motivator factor are high. For hygiene
factor, relationship between directors of hospital, interpersonal relationship, job security, work
environment are at high level, whereas, policy, compensation and benefit are at medium level. For
motivator factor, work achievement, job characteristic are at high level, whereas, and career
advancement is medium level.
Age and duration of work did not affect work satisfaction in Mae Fah Luang University
Hospitals employees in Chiang Rai Province, but type of position is affect work satisfaction in
Mae Fah Luang University Hospitals employees. Recomment (1) Policy, plan for management
and organization structure should be clear. (2) Compensation covers such as benefit salary should
be companable to public hospital. (3) Career Path should be explicity and fair to all employees.
