Conditions and Ways of Applying Local Wisdom to Teaching and Learning In Chiangmaiprachanusorn School under The Office of Roi-Et Educational Service Area 3.
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were two-fold: 1) to study the conditions and the ways of applying local wisdom to teaching and learning in Chiangmaiprachanusorn School 2) to study the model of applying local wisdom to teaching and learning in Chiangmaiprachanusorn School.
The population consisted of directors, assistant directors, parents, teachers, and community leaders totally 32.
The tools for data collecting were consisted of questionnaires, conference reports, tape recorder, camera and others medias. The data were analyzed by frequency, percentage and content descriptive analysis.
The finding revealed that:
In the area of the conditions and the ways of applying local wisdom to teaching and learning in Chiangmaiprachanusorn school is indicated in 4 parts as follow:
1. in the part of local wisdom, it lack of an expert, scholars information
and plan.
2. in the part of the budget, the low budget causes the problem of scholar
compensation
3. in the part of teaching and learning activities, an evaluation method is
Over emphasized on practice and there is an unsystematic and discontinued report. Beside that it lack of materials, course syllabus and local curriculum using in the school.
4. in the part of community learning sources, it is found that there is no studying of communitys conditions and aspiration.
5. in the part of curriculum, there are not a planning and a committee conference of curriculum operation.
6. in the part of curriculum activities, the knowledge of local wisdom are not inserted to all subjects.
7. in the part of teaching style, the contents are not integrated in all curriculum
In the area of the model of applying local wisdom to teaching and learning in Chiangmaiprachanusorn School can be concluded into 6 parts as follow:
7.1 The planning of curriculum operation is assigned as an obvious policy that can be used by the school workers. There is the committee of curriculum operation to write up the local curriculum.
7.2 A variety of interesting curriculum activities are presented in 3 styles as
follow:
7.2.1 applying the local wisdom to teaching and learning in all 8
curriculum strands.
7.2.2 inviting the local scholar to teach in school
7.2.3 assigning the students to study the work of local wisdom.
7.3 The teaching models are continuously conducted and to be praised in the important occasion.
7.4 Teaching and learning activities are appropriate for the content and the subject. These activities are emphasized on useful skill. The various assessment are used. In addition, case study and continuous reporting are useful to the development.
7.5 The community is proud of participating in managing the teaching and learning model for their children.
7.6 The school is the representative in order to publicize the art and culture.
7.7 The local materials are used to teaching and learning activities.
