Abstract:
The study was conducted to investigate the motivation at work, the organizational commitment and the relationship between motivation at work and organizational commitment. The data were collected from 327 municipal employees in Sa Kaeo Province through the application of questionnaire, and were analyzed using Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, Independent Samples t-test, One-way ANOVA, and Chi-Square with the 95% confidence level.
The results of the study revealed that the highest levels of motivation at work were in the aspects of work activity, responsibility, recognition, and relationship with superiors, while the motivation at work in the aspects of achievement, advancement, and salary were at the high levels. Moreover, the study showed that different gender, age, marital status, level of education, salary rate, and work experience of the municipal employees had effects on the differences of opinion concerning the organizational commitment, and it was also found that the motivation at work in the aspects of achievement, work activity, advancement, responsibility, recognition, salary, and relationship with superiors had a correlation with the organizational commitment at 0.05 level of significance.
