Abstract:
The research was conducted for the development of Kolek boats model package for the Kolek
boats model center at Banton, Meuang, Narathiwat Province. This research aims to study the satisfaction
of the using Kolek boat model package form. The sample size included 100 people who bought Kolek boat
model and three shop owners of Kolek boat. The research methodology is consisted of both qualitative data
collection method using in-depth interview and quantitative data collection method using questionnaire.
The results of this research show that the development of the package for the Kolek boats
model should use the inventory of santol wood from the local area, because it is a moderate character
wood, red hardwood mixes grey, strengthening the boat and also easy for decorating the boat. Thus,
the packaging in this research is designed to three formats. The first package having octagon shape in
each side in which major components include wood, glass frame in the front side, and caving wood
and diamond-shaped quadrangle in both left-and-right sides. Second package having square shaped in
each side contain almost similar components to the first format except, the kanok pattern of caving
wood in the left-and-right sides of the boat. The square shape pattern of wood in each side of the boat
is the key feature of third package format. The major constituents include wood, glass frame in the front
side, wooden left-and-right sides and basketwork net pattern background. The maximum numbers of
the consumers (46.6%) have bought the second package format. The best package was determined
from the customer satisfactory level of using the packages. First, the packages was identified based on
the customer satisfaction on using materials to construct the package, the highest satisfaction ( =
4.03, S.D. = 0.92) on using the 2nd packages was found. Secondly, the decoration of the boat were
considered showed the highest satisfactory level ( = 4.06, S.D. = 0.90) in package 2. Finally, the pattern
and shape of package were considered to select the best package, the customer showed the highest
satisfactory level for easy movement or transportation of package ( = 3.92, S.D. = 0.92) in the
package 2.
