Relationships between leadership of head nurses, organizational climate, and work productivity as perceived by staff nurses, public autonomous university hospitals
Abstract:
This descriptive study were to study the work productivity, and to examine the relationships between leadership of head nurses, organizational climate, and work productivity as perceived by staff nurses, public autonomous university hospitals. Subjects were 364 staff nurses, public autonomous university hospitals, selected by simple random sampling. Data were collected by using questionnaires: leadership of head nurses, organizational climate, and work productivity. Content validity was established by a panel of experts. Reliability of the instruments by Cronbach alpha coefficient were 0.89, 0.88 and 0.86 respectively. The data were analyzed by using percentage, mean, standard deviation and Pearsons product moment correlation coefficient. The major findings were as follows: 1. Work productivity as perceived by staff nurses, public autonomous university hospitals were at the high level ([x-bar] = 4.03, SD = 0.54). 2. There was positively significant relationships between leadership of head nurses, organizational climate, and work productivity as perceived by staff nurses, public autonomous university hospitals (r = .632 and .807 respectively) at .05 level.
