Abstract:
The objective of this work was to indentify the optional differential pressure
between the inlet and outlet pressures of air filters. In a unit of an electrical gas turbine,
there are 2 filters: (1) pre-filter and (2) fine-filter. The manufacturer specifies to change
the filters when the differential pressure are 3.0 and 4.0 mbar, respectively. According to
the analysis, changing the filters at the specified differential pressures causing about
฿ 148,039.6 baht loss of revenue from selling the electricity generated. Therefore, the
optimal differential pressure to change the filters was studied. The study was done to
find the differential pressure that make minimum loss. After analyzing the data, it was
concluded that the optimal differential pressures to change the both filters were 1.4 and
3.2 mbar, respectively. If the filters are changed due to the new finding, the average
loss could be ฿ 120,902.9 baht per month, ฿ 27,136.8 baht or18.3 % reduction.
