Abstract:
This study aimed to study the effects of smoke crisis on medium size hotel business and its adjustment in Mueang Chiang Rai District, Chiang Rai Province. Questionnaire survey was employed to 14 medium size hotel entrepreneurs in Mueang Chiang Rai District, Chiang Rai Province. The obtained data were analyzed by computer analysis package whereas descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage and mean were employed to explain data. The study revealed that majority of the medium size hotel business got effects of smoke crisis raking form the most to least as product, place, personnel, price, promotion, physical evidence and process. The hotels that are affected by smoke crisis are the five star hotels and three star hotels. Thus, the adjustment approach of medium size hotel in Mueang Chiang Rai District, Chiang Rai Province on smoke crisis should be as follows. Product: Promoting image of hotel business in addition to beautiful physical environment, room decoration responding to customers desires, variety of food and beverage service and activities or special events to attracts customers. Price: To increase numbers of customer, it is necessary to do price adjustment according to season and customers needs, set contract for price discounting for all expected customers in comparison with the competitors. Place: Networking and collaborating with private and public sectors related to hotels, agency and MICE company for marketing expanding.Promotion: Regularly promoting public relation related to hotel and its services via radio/television and others printed media such as magazine, leaflets and banner as well as website. People: Promoting training course for hotel staffs to enhance their capacity building on knowledge, ability and skills related to their jobs in addition to rotating working experiences in different departments. Physical Evidence: Promoting hygiene and beautiful decoration in the hotels surrounding. Process: Providing quick and efficiency services such as checking in-out hotel and variety of payment channels including cash, credit cards and voucher..
