Abstract:
This research on Phleng Hae in Thai Culture is a qualitative research work with the objective to learn about the context and roles of Phleng Hae in Thai culture, as well as cultural and the song chanting of Phleng Hae. This research relied on primary and secondary data obtained from existing literature, records, interview and field works.
The results from the research reveal: that Phleng Hae. The main hubs of knowledge transmission in ancient times were the household, temple and palace. Phleng Hae can be divided into three different types, namely, Pleng Hae in royal religious or state ceremonies, The song styles of Phleng Hae can be divided into three processes, 1) the Hae Klom, 2) the Hae Rue, 3) The Hae Lakorn Phleng Hae, and can be categorized into various types as Hae Klom (Soothing chanting), the Hae Rue (boat chanting),Hae Lakorn (Thai drama chanting) and Hae Tao (refrained chanting).Forms of Phleng Hae including called Composition, singing and melody in Hae.
