Quality of working life of the government servants and employees of the mobile development unit 51, the 5th Regional Development Office, Armed Force Development Command
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to study and compare the quality of
working life of the government servants and employees of the Mobile Development
unit 51, the 5th Regional Development Office, Armed Force Development Command,
classified by the personal factors. The sample group were 103 government servants
and employees of the Mobile Development unit 51, the 5th Regional Development
Office, Armed Force Development Command selected by stratified random sampling
method. The instrument used for data collection were five-point rating scale
questionnaires with the reliability of .93. The statistical procedures used for data
analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and F-test.
The research finding were as follows :
As a whole, the opinion toward the quality of working life, on five aspects,
was found to be at the highest level, with a declining order from more to less,
namely: participation and acceptance from the society, followed by workingpotential development, safety in working, working security and progress, and justice
in compensation respectively.
When compared the quality of working life based on their gender, age,
working period, level of education, salary, and rank using t-test and F-test, it was
found that those with different gender, age, and working period had no different
opinion toward the quality of working life as a whole. However, those with different
level of education, salary, and rank had different opinion toward the quality of
working life as a whole, with statistical significance at the critical level .01.
