Abstract:
This research is intended to study the relationship between the academic results from the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy and the Armed Forces Academy Preparatory School. Consideration is based on the five year average grade (in percent) of the cadets who graduated from five year program and the results of second year examination of precadets which were taken separately for each principle subjects, mathematics, sciences, social sciences, and military sciences. The regression theory is used to analyze the relationship by using the analysis of variance for testing the hypothesis of regression model. Population is the cadets classes of 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. We selected sample by stratified random sampling from each class and the sample size is 142 cadets. Data is collected by letting the five year average grade (in percent) of the selected sample cadets be dependent variables and the results of second year examination from the Armed Forces Academy Preparatory School of the selected sample cadets be independent variables. Each subject, mathematics, sciences, social sciences, and military sciences considered separately are first, second, third and fourth independent variables ( , , , ) orderly, and then analyze theses data by regression theory. The results of this research show that there is a significant relationship between the five year average grade of the cadets and the results of second year examination from the Armed Forces Academy Preparatory School (at the .01 level of significance) in the subject of mathematics, sciences, and social sciences. And there is no significant relationship between the military sciences from the Armed Forces Academy Preparatory School and the five year average grade of the cadets. The most suitable regression model to be used for predicting the five year average grade of the cadets, is the model of the first independent variable (mathematics), the second independent variable (sciences), and the third independent variable (social sciences) which is in the form of = 54.404059 + 0.02965954 + 0.0290168 + 0.03770635
