Abstract:
Since the trend of economic in Thailand is slow down together with high competition and
unstable of political situation. As the result the investor is re-considering for new country such as
Vietnam or China where the cost of operation is lower than Thailand. Some of manufacture is
closed down due to impact. The management of this industrial has to improve the production by
cost saving, improvement of productivity for survival. The study found that the factor of waste
generate are from lack of knowledge, machine, work method and law material.
The objectives of this paper are to analyze and control causes which have effect with
quality of SMD process by using technique, like Process Failure Mode and Effect analysis;
PFMEA. The research is started from studying process by using Flow Process Chart in order to
analyze the problems. When finding the problems, we use technique, like Fish Bone Diagram to
analyze the causes having an effect on quality factors. The most of all research must have 3
problem for this manufacture such as:
1. Parts Non-wetting
2. Parts missing
3. Parts Misalignment
After that, the specialists in SMD process analyze and evaluate the severity, occurrence
and defective of each defect to calculate risk priority number; RPN. Then the process have the
most priority number will be to the first corrected and improvement and analyze the root cause
and settle for standard Working and control from the comparison before and after production
average from January to December 2008 and the top ten have production 260,500 units and have
defect 605 units. It is about 0.23% and the total point for inspection 609,943 units and total have
defected 12,089. It is about 1.98% and can reduction of decfect 106.7% and 49,290 Baht/month
of cost saving from this improvement process.
