Abstract:
Pneumatics equipment and motor are fundamental equipments in most factories.
Currently, declining economic situation decreases demand of this kind of product. Many
vendors in this business are trying to maintain their number of purchasing order. Contrary,
the number of quotation rejection is increasing. This objective of this study is to find factors
that affect acceptation and rejection of quotation of a case study company. Three
questionnaires are used to collect data from customers. The first questionnaire collected data
from key persons of customers company. It results, both major and minor, that affect
customers decision in acceptation for each quotation. The second questionnaire allows the
customers to evaluate the importance of majors, and also minor factors of each major
factor. At this time, AHP technique and statistical method are used to evaluate and define
priorities for each minor factor. The last questionnaire is used to analyze strength and
weakness of the case study company. Consequently, the weakness points should be
analyzed and solved. The results of this study show that there are four major factors i.e.
time, price, quality and services regarding their importance. The strength of the case study
company is quality of products while the weaknesses are lead time of delivery, products
price and efficiency of sales and services respectively. In conclusion, this study has
suggested approaches to solve the weakness points of the case study company in order to
augment number of quotation acceptation.
