Abstract:
Refinery plant have problem about the maintenance cost of Pump as main equipment of
Plant and Pump maintenance cost around 63% of all maintenance cost, Trend of Pump
maintenance cost are increase every year, maintenance cost = 6,437,216 ฿ in year 2006,
8,043,619 ฿ in year 2007 and 9,488,074 ฿ in year 2008, MTBF are lower than MTBF of
Refinery standard = 46.8 months, Failure Rate = 0.0213 time per month. Solution for this problem
is to develop and apply the Technology for improvement pump in Refinery plant, purposed for
optimized the Maintenance cost & activity and increased the Reliability of Pump in Refinery
plant by Feasibility study for applied new technology of pump lubrication system. Oil mist
system is a centralized lubrication system that automatically and continuously delivers lubricant
to machinery bearing, fresh clean and cool oil once through lubrication, eliminates particles
and water contamination in bearing housing. Oil mist lubrication system can reduce pump
maintenance cost = 3,197,910 ฿ and increase reliability of pump to be Refinery standard at 70
months, Failure Rate = 0.0143 time per month that mean new system can reduce failure rate = 32 %.
Investment of new lubrication system = 16,700,000 ฿, Economics calculation for payback period
= 4.4 years, IRR (Internal Rate of Return) = 18.32%. The result of this master project is to
develop lubrication system of pump, proposed for optimize the loss and maintenance cost of
pump in Refinery Plant.
