Abstract: The purpose of this study was to develop and research a course called Technical English for Communication in Careers in order to increase human resource potential in the fields of science, technology and engineering. An integrated learning system was used. The course comprised the following components: curriculum with learning kit, in-class training and learning with peer interaction, out of class self learning, in-class group learning with classmates, skill training and practice under simulated conditions, and construction of a desired career profile for students. Purposive and cluster sampling was used to select subjects in 5 groups each consisting respectively of 93, 113, 106, 108 and 128 students to pilot and trial the learning system at the two campuses of King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok. Training was then provided to groups 1, 2, 3 and 5 at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok campus; and to Group 4 at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Prachinburi campus. The course was evaluated by means of a one-group, Pretest - Posttest assessment The pre-test and post-test results from the pilot study and field trials indicated that the integrated learning system developed in this study was effective for training. The efficiency of the learning kit was at 85.20/82.00 in theoretical achievement, which was higher than the criteria set at 80 / 80. The difference between the means of the pretest and posttest was significant, at a difference level of .01.
