Abstract:
The objective of this master project is to study to present the technique to improve
the lost time reduction for Plastic bags extrusion process combining with many products and
can be producing in several machines. Doing so, I implement SMED technique in this study.
I use five machines as the sample of this research. There are two main step as follow.
First step divinding the set-up process. I divide internal and external set-ups. From the
research, machine number can be reduce the setup time 1,2,3,4 and 5 can be reduce the
setup time 40 (63.34%), 54 (62.06%), 49 (57.64%), 59 (62.76%) and 53 (60.23%)
minutes accordingly. Second step, dividing the sub-internal set-up by implementing parallel
operation. From the research machine number 1,2,3,4 and 5 can be reduce the set-up time
48 (64%), 69(67.82%), 62 (72.94%), 72 (76.60%) and 65 (73.86%) minutes
accordingly.
