Abstract:
This research aims to synthesize an integrated instruction model for applying to engineering education in the active filter subject. The research procedure consists of 6 steps: 1) the integrated instruction model synthetics using multi-methods comprising of documentary analysis, depth of interview and focus groups discussions 2) the development of an integrated instruction model that is called The process of developing ideas and practices instruction model composed of guidance, information, developing ideas, practice, evaluation and application 3) the development of instructional media that consists of the virtual instrument computer program and the computer simulation, 4) Implementation of the instructional package in active filter which is divided into 3 units: active devices in active filter, voltage mode active filter and current mode active filter. The instructional package comprises teachers handbook, instructional media set and achievement test 5) Implementation of the integrated instruction model with 30 sample students who registered in electronics circuits analysis subject, the Bachelor of Science in Technical Education, program in electronics engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Isan 6) analysis of data and conclusion.
The result of research showed that the appropriateness of the synthesized instruction model was in a high level ( =4.47, SD=0.55) as assessed by experts. The instructional package has efficiency of 79.94/79.83 which was lower than standard criterion of 80/80 that uses the effective criterion of Meguiganss formula with the value of 1.171 (greater than 1). The result of analysis of the differences in learning collected from pre-test and post-test scores showed the statistically significant at the .05 level. The learning from the analysis of effective index was equal to 0.70 (higher than 0.5) meaning that learning progress was based on hypothesis. The satisfaction of the
learners through the developed instruction model was in the high level with the average value of =4.24. It has also been that the students could develop thinking of linking between theory and practice, researching skill, problem solving skill, and higher curiosity.
In conclude, the synthesized model of integrated instruction using the development
of ideas and practice model and the virtual instrument has an effective method for engineering learning and teaching.
