Abstract:
In the organization development, setting up a training course is one necessary
and acceptable means to enhance the skill and knowledge of the personnel. It is
advantageous for the organization if the training course is able to gain access to the
source of information required by those who are interested in the training course and
plan a training course that promptly responds to the requirements of the organization.
However, it is currently found that the training topics for most training courses are set up
by estimation. The estimation approach lacks the requirement information for use in
determining the criteria for the training topics. This drawback from the cancellation of
the training topics results in the loss of opportunity, budget, time, and various resources.
In order to find the solution, this research is designed to yield a method used in
searching for the hidden information regarding the relevant knowledge. This is achieved
by developing a Decision Support System to find a direction to set up a training course
through Data Mining. The Data Mining method is used in acquiring comprehensible
requirement information after reviewing the course details. The information analysis can
be well implemented by the classification of the training course requirements from the
interested people while the training course topics can be clustered to define the their
priorities and the association of those interested people concerning their educational
backgrounds, ages, occupations can be related to their most desirable topic and
properly used in support of the decision-making for the training organizer.
