Abstract:
The objective of this research is to study of the result of using spring stripper on shear zones by finite element method and compare with experiment results in industrial factory. The piercing simulation uses hot roll steel S20CM according to standard JIS G4051 with sheet thickness of 5.65 mm diameter 58+0.15 mm tool clearances of 10 % of sheet thickness and vary spring stripper force 0, 20, 40, 60, 80 kN for considering length of shear zones and piercing hole dimension. Simulation is conducted by using a commercial finite element program (DEFORM 2D Version 8.1). The model is considered
as axisymmetry problem and the material as elastic-plastic material. Thermal and friction between all contacting surface is assumed. Simulation results show that the both shear zones agrees with those obtained from experiment. Therefore the change of spring stripper force affects shear zones and
piercing hole dimension. As to the results, the increasing of spring stripper force will increase shear zones to 1.90, 2.06, 2.21, 2.48, 2.64 mm and piercing hole dimensions have been changed to 58.15, 58.09, 58.07, 58.06, 58.03 mm. Then vary friction coefficient 0, 0.10, 0.15 will increase shear zones to 2.30, 2.48, 2.68 mm and piercing hole dimensions have been changed to 58.07, 58.06, 58.03 mm and then vary tool
clearances 5, 10, 15 % will decrease shear zones to 3.19, 2.48, 2.16 mm and piercing hole dimensions have been changed to 58.03, 58.06, 58.13 mm. From the result makes to know effect of spring stripper, friction coefficient, clearances affects to cut surface
