Guidelines for The Development of a Sustainable Cultural Tourism : A Case Studyof Ban Khok Kong , KudwaSub-District, KuchinaraiDistric , Kalasin province.
Abstract:
The purposes of the study of guidelines for the development of a sustainable cultural tourism : a case study of Ban Khok Kong , Kudwa sub-district, Kuchinaraidistric , Kalasin province were 1) to study the context and problems of cultural tourism of Ban Khok Kong , Kudwa sub-district, Kuchinaraidistric , Kalasin province, and 2) to find out the guidelines for developing the appropriate cultural tourism of Ban Khok Kong , Kudwa sub-district, Kuchinaraidistric , Kalasin province. Participants of this study were 50 people from five groups including 1) formal leader, 2) informal leader, 3) shopkeeper, 4) Ban Khok Kong representatives, and 5) Thai tourists who came to Ban Khok KongKudwa sub-district, Kuchinaraidistric ,Kalasin province. The research instrument used in this study was semi-structured interview protocol on structural problems and the issues of workshop. The data obtained were analyzed through the content analysis.
There are three aspects in the results of the study of guidelines for the development of a sustainable cultural tourism : a case study of Ban Khok Kong , Kudwa sub-district, Kuchinaraidistric , Kalasin province which are:
1. Tourist attractions in Ban Khok Kong are unique such as Phi Thai culture, local activities, local foods, way of life, local weaving, and Tat Soong water fall.
2) Facilities and infrastructures are very convenient and enough for tourists. There should be the sings of activities and places in English for foreign tourists. There should be the promotion on cleanness, safety, and beauty of landscape.
3) The access of the tourists is convenient and enough. Most of tourists went Ban Khok Kong by car. The road is good and safety.
There are three aspects in the results of the study of the problems of sustainable cultural tourism : a case study of Ban Khok Kong , Kudwa sub-district, Kuchinaraidistric , Kalasin province which are:
1) Tourist attractions should be improved in terms of advertisement, public relation and the cleanness.
2) The facilities should be improved in terms of transportation which is not enough and the road signs, the cleanness and the food quality especially the price, the good service, the souvenir in terms of design, price, material, and quality, the home stay service in terms of standard, advertisement and public relation, tourist guide, the cleanness and safety of the tourist places.
3) The access of tourist attractions should be improved in terms of road condition especially smoothness and size.
There are three aspects in the results of the guideline for developing of sustainable cultural tourism : a case study of Ban Khok Kong , Kudwa sub-district, Kuchinaraidistric , Kalasin province which are:
1) Tourist attractions should be improved in terms of there should be the tourism volunteers who always offer help to tourists, the government and private sectors should support in terms of advertisement and public relation, the promotion of uniqueness of local people especially clothes, and there should be the improvement of cleanness of tourist attractions.
2) The facilities should be improved in terms of establishing the tourist center for tourists, there should be the enough accommodation such as toilets, car parks, and pavilions for tourists.
3) The access should be improved in terms of safety and convenience of road, there should be clear and easy to understand road signs, the local administrative organization should be the leader in developing the local cultural tourist attractions, the government sectors should help promote to the tourists about the activities and tourist places through the radio broadcast, brochure, and pamphlet.
