A study of the performance of the preschool center under the supervision of the local administrative organization of the Klong Tom District, Krabi Province
Abstract:
The objectives of the research were to study the level of the performance of the Preschool Centers in Klong Tom District, and to investigate problems and make suggestions to improve the performance of the Centers. The sample group consisted of 81 teachers at the Preschool Centers. Questionnaires with the level of reliability at 0.94 were used to collect the data. The statistics employed to analyse the collected data included frequency, means, and S.D.
The results of the study revealed : The overall level of performance of the Preschool Centers was found to be high. The areas of performance were ranked from highest to lowest as follows : curriculum, personnel, buildings, environment and safety, participation of parents, and support from outside units.
Suggestions were that the Local Administrative Organizations should provide sufficient budget for the Centers for teacher training, building and maintaining buildings, fences, and gates and hiring janitors. The Centers should add more green areas, play grounds, and play toys for children. The teachers need support from the administrators and fairness in the administration and evaluation process. The preschool teacher network should organize meetings among the teachers at least twice a year. The curriculum of the Centers should be standardized. The Centers should provide a disaster prevention activity for the children.
