Abstract:
The purpose of this master project is to select the waste water treatment process
improvement by consideration of engineering and economy. For company which there was
production to increase capacity for serving market demand. This causes high waste water quantity
to waste water treatment unit. And COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) of treated water is close to
standard specification (120 mg/l). This research was started by interviewed environment experts
the water treatment process improvement. As a result the all possible waste water treatment
improvement was conducted. There was laboratory test for considerate check of engineering
possibility, then the analysis of economics was done to support correct decision making and more
confident investment. The analysis was considered according to net present value. As a result of
the study, the waste water treatment process improvement can be selected by consideration of
engineering and economy. The project also builds the Sand filter and Activated Carbon system
for waste water treatment with standardized quality of 92 mg/l, before sending out to the public,
that costs the lowest net present value -9 million baht. And there is no sensitivity in economy
study that affects the confidence in investment project selection.
