Abstract:
The objective of this research is to formulate the inventory model for perishable products
with imperfect quality and uniform distributed demand. The algorithm is developed which based
on that of Layek Abdel-Malek and Areeratchakul. To be specific, the developed algorithm
simplifies the problems objective function into Quadratic function then uses KKTs condition
and Modified Simplex method to obtain the final solution. In addition, the model is capable of
solving the problem with many constraints and with large number of ordered products. In the
experiment, we compare the proposed model to that of Richard Ehrhardt and Larry Taube. The
experimental results show that the average total costs obtained from each model have exactly the
same value. Nevertheless, the proposed model is capable of effectively handling practical
problems with several items and constraints.
